Very Inspiring Blogger Award

What a good feeling to get an email on one of your posts that says you’ve been nominated for “Very Inspiring Blogger Award”!!  Jodi and I have been blogging since 2008!  We’ve both had a lot of fun with trying out new recipes and sharing them with our friends/family!  And something as simple as this just makes you feel like you’re reaching other people in this “bloggers life”.  We may not have the best site or the fanciest pictures (Ok, I’ll talk about myself) but I know that I love doing this.  I love cooking and baking with my kids in the kitchen knowing that we are creating great memories for when they grow up.  And one day they will look back and remember how they learned to make cookies or chicken because Nana taught them how when they were little.  So I say thanks to Noshing with the Nolands for thinking of us!  It means a lot to us!!!!

Here are the rules to participate once you have been nominated

The Happy 101 Award for Blogging

I got an email this weekend from with the great award.
I’m supposed to list 10 things that make me happy and 10 great websites.

Thanks Michael for your recognition.  It’s so appreciated.

Here goes..

10 things that make me the happiest:

My family.  It took a long time to get to where I am in life and I was able to get there with great help from my family.

Craig.  He’s been a wonderful part of the growing process in life.  And I hope we get to continue to grow and learn more each day.

Grandkids.  Having Brooklyn and Caleb in my life full time and helping them grow has been more than words can express.   Watching them learn to succeed in life and make changes at such a young age is so gratifying.

My doggies.  Coco and Clyde can always put a happy smile on my face in any situation.  They are true unconditional lovers!

Friends.  Having friends that you are close to makes life so much easier!

Techie tools.  I love my computer and phone.  Love to keep up to date on the newest!!

Cooking.  I love to cook.  I’ve tried my hand at baking and have had some luck with that as well.  Cooking brings a great satisfaction.

Making new friends online.  Having a website and sharing cooking/baking ideas and the fun you’ve had is so rewarding.  Being able to share and meet new people is so fun!

Reading.  I love to read.  It’s similar to cooking.  It gives you a sense of relaxation.  Yes, cooking does that for me.  I love being able to read a book and escape life for a little while.

My home.  I love being a newlywed homeowner.  It’s such a big change from renting an apartment.  Every time I pull into the driveway I am so grateful I have a place to call my own.  One in which I can grow with Craig, Brooklyn, Caleb and the puppies.

My 10 foodie websites I love!

Thank you to all of the foodie friends I have made.  I’ve enjoyed your websites and have had a great time meeting everyone.
Happy cooking to you all!

Today I posted some chicken w/wild rice soup and a sammie.  I sent it out to all of my foodie friends on Food Buzz.  Jodi and I have made friends with Kristy from My Little Spaces (blog site).  She stops by and checks out all of our posts and leaves awesome comments for us (which we truly appreciate).

Today she left me a comment:

Hope you’ll like the recipe as well!, Patricia. Btw, I’ve an award for you.
Please feel free to drop by to collect the batch. Cheers.

Thanks Kristy!  I truly appreciate you giving us these awards.  They’re awesome.
To all of our foodie friends, please stop by and grab the award for your site.

Kreativ Blogger Award!

We would like to thank Kristy from My Little Space: for passing the Kreative Blogger award on to us. We’ve had so much fun sharing our recipes and hope we continue to meet many new and interesting people. When she sent an email letting us know that we could stop by her site to pick up our award, we were happy just to see her posting on the Vegetarian Siew Bao. Bao is one of our favorites, though we have yet to be brave enough to make our own! Please stop by her site and have a look.

Next we have to share Seven things about us:
1. We are coworkers who bonded over books and food.
2. For about a year we lived in the same apt building 2 floors apart. I loved this because we were able to easily share ingredients and leftovers.
3. We each have 2 dogs. Patricia has Clyde (a red lab) and Coco (a shih tzu). I have Zelda and Gidget (both are beagles)
4. Patricia (who looks way too young for this to be true) is raising her two grandkids.
5. I am (im)patiently waiting for my boyfriend to propose. I’m trying to talk him into a destination wedding.
6. We dream of being able to quit our day jobs to start a catering business.
7. We originally wanted to video blog, but with busy schedules it was difficult to coordinate. So we made our written blog instead.

We’ll nominate these 7 delicious blogs:
